I am honored,
humbled and challenged by this new position
of leadership. Ridgecroft School is founded
on the principles of honor, discipline and
true belief in excellence. I join the faculty and staff
in a fervent desire not only to remember
these principles but also to realize them.
We seek not just to believe in excellence, but
also to achieve it. I have been a part of
the Ridgecroft Family, both as a parent and
as a soccer coach, for a number of years.
Now it is my calling as well as yours to
continue to make Ridgecroft School strong
and viable not just for our children, but
our children's children.
Ridgecroft's
History:
Ridgecroft
School is an independent,
college-preparatory school with grades K-12
as well as a three-year and four-year old
pre-Kindergarten program. The campus is
located in Hertford County, in northeastern
North Carolina, between the towns of Ahoskie
and Murfreesboro. The 83 acre campus has 22
classrooms, a media center, a computer lab,
a multipurpose gymtorium, a cafeteria, and
administrative offices. In addition, there
are playgrounds, athletic fields, and an
outdoor classroom.
Originally
chartered in 1968, Ridgecroft opened its
doors in 1970 with an enrollment of 147
students in grades 1-9. Current enrollment
of PreK through grade 12 is 281students and our school serves students from
several of the surrounding counties.
Ridgecroft
School is accredited since 1984 by the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
(SACS) which ensures that Ridgecroft
continues to maintain strict standards
pertaining to curriculum, faculty, staff
preparation, physical facilities, and
equipment. The faculty is supported by a
media specialist, a learning specialist, and
a Director of Curriculum.
Ridgecroft
School has a small-school environment which
encourages parental and faculty involvement
in the development of the whole child, but
continues to actively pursue excellence in
academics to prepare students for the
colleges and universities of their choice
and the work world. |
