Materials & Equipment Needs

2011-2012 as of June 7,2011

Unless otherwise noted 6-12 grades will need the basic school supplies. Most teachers request students to have a small, three ring binder, spiral notebook and loose leaf college-ruled paper for each class. Students will need to have pens, #2 pencils, highlighters, book covers, and colored pencils.

 

Grade 6 Language Arts- MURRAY-Spiral notebook, 2-pocket folder, loose-leaf paper, composition book for writing (no wire), #2 pencils, colored pencils (small pack), dry erase marker. Dictionary and thesaurus at home. Please donate a box of Kleenex or a container of hand sanitizer. These items are used daily in the classroom by students.

Grade 6 History-Murray- MURRAY- one 1 1/2 inch binder with dividers, loose leaf paper, pencils (#2 lead), dry erase markers, colored pencils (small), book cover

Summer Reading 6th grade: Number the Stars by Lois Lowry or Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie Tolan. Assignments on summer reading will be given on the first day of school.

Grade 7/8 Language Arts-THERESA DILUSTRO- 1 1-inch binder with dividers, loose-leaf paper, pens/pencils, dry erase maker, small sock to use to erase board, colored pencils, highlighters. 7th graders bring box of tissues and 8th graders bring either box of tissues or bottle of hand sanitizer. Students should have access to dictionary and thesaurus at home.

Grade 7 Social Studies-MURRAY- one 1 1/2 inch binder with dividers, loose leaf paper, pencils (#2 lead), dry erase markers, colored pencils (small), book cover, please donate either a box of kleenex or sanitizer wipes

Grade 7 Life Science-LANE- 1 1/2 -2" three-ring binder, loose leaf paper, pencils or pens, book cover, small box of colored pencils. Request donations of box of tissues, roll of paper towels, box of latex gloves for dissecting in biology, plastic containers of any size.

Grade 8 N.C. History-MARGARET NEWBERN- 1 loose-leaf notebook (three ring binder), college ruled paper,  one box Kleenex. Summer reading will be either Storm Warriors by Elisa Carbone or Blue by Joyce Moyer Hostetter.

6th and 7th Grade Math-SANDRA JOHNSON- T-34 calculator (like used in 5th grade), 70 sheet tablets labeled with the course name and your name, only bring one to class each day (save others), sharpened pencils(mechanical are okay), 1 pocket folder, 3 dry erase markers to write on slate board, protractor.

Pre-Algebra-SANDRA JOHNSON-TI-84 calculator or TI83 if you already have one, 70 sheet tablets labeled with the course name and your name, only bring one to class each day (save others), sharpened pencils(mechanical are okay), 1 pocket folder, 3 dry erase markers to write on slate board, protractor.

JENKS JOHNSON- Algebra I Math Classes- 2-3 inch three ring binder with tabs, loose leaf paper, graph paper, pencil (lead refills) "hole band aids", book cover, a simple four function calculator.

Algebra I, II, and Precalculus Classes- NEED a TI84 or TI84 Plus Silver Edition Graphics Calculator with extra batteries. Ok if you have TI 83.

Art Supplies: 6-8

art box, paint brushes, sketch pad, erasers, watercolors, chalk pastels, colored pencils, crayons, markers

Students grades 6-8 recommend to have 1 Zip Drive.
