Admission and
Enrollment Requirements
Parents are invited to observe in the
classrooms when searching for a preschool.
Parents of preschoolers are encouraged to be
involved in instruction and activities. Some
suggested ways include: reading a story to
the class, musical activities, going on
field trips, and assisting in celebration of
birthdays or holidays.
Preschool
Eligibility Policy (adopted by board April
14, 2008)
Each student enrolled in the program is on
probationary status. At any time during the
school year, the director and staff can
request a mandatory conference with the
parents if they feel that the program is not
meeting the needs of the child or if the
child is not conforming to the program
guidelines. If problem persist, staff may
request that the child be withdrawn from the
program.
1. A mandatory orientation for new and
returning parents is done prior to a child
entering preschool.
2. Children must meet the age requirement of
being three years old by August 31st for the
3-year old program or four years old by
August 31st for the 4-year old program.
3. Children must be potty trained and able
to communicate their wants and needs.
Waiting List
The Preschool has a specified
limit to the number of students that can be
enrolled. A waiting list will be maintained
and as vacancies occur, slots will be filled
according to the waiting list priority.

Termination of
Enrollment
The Ridgecroft Preschool has
the right to terminate services for a child
when it is determined that the child would
benefit more from a different type of child
care setting. Reasons may include continued
misbehavior or lack of potty training.
