Philosophy and Mission
All children are unique and have a
right to learn within a safe,
healthy, nurturing, and secure
environment. Ridgecroft Preschool
promotes the positive self-concept
and self-expression of children
through a developmentally
appropriate center-based curriculum
that is adapted according to the
interest and needs of the children.
A qualified staff of early childhood
educators facilitates the learning
environment to ensure total
development of each child:
academically, physically,
emotionally, socially, and
aesthetically. The Ridgecroft
Preschool teachers endeavor to make
each child’s beginning educational
experience both meaningful and
joyful. They strive to give children
a sense of themselves as explorers,
discoverers, problem solvers, and
inventors that will support their
development of self-esteem.
Specifically, the purpose of the
Preschool is
-
To develop new skills
and practice and to reinforce
existing concepts and skills,
-
To provide practice in
the ability to communicate ideas and
needs,
-
To develop individual
thinking and problem solving,
-
To develop positive
attitudes about school and one’s
self, and
-
To provide enrichment
activities.
In accordance
with Federal law and US Department of
Agriculture policy, the Ridgecroft Preschool
does not discriminate on the basis of race,
color, national origin, sec or disability.
